Guest Comic by Michael Phelps

Posted by Carlo Jose San Juan, MD on Thursday, November 17, 2011,
This wonderful guest comic strip is by the indubitable gentleman, Michael Phelps!

Michael does the delightful webcomic, Life on 66, which deals with a group of friends living and working in a small town along the famous Route 66.  You might think life there is slow, but it is filled with adventures big and small!

However, I first encountered Michael through his old comic, Blue No. 7.  I enjoyed it enough to start following him on Twitter (and that explains his Twitter nom de plume, BlueNo7).

Crazy Metro's Ernest John Daryll Fiestan follows up his previous guest comic strip for Callous with this one!  With all the roasted fowl present, it's probably best that Cal is in Peanut Butter heaven elsewhere... albeit in the thoughts of one JV!

This guest comic strip is by Dag Nygaard (A.K.A. "Roo") from Norway!  Roo writes and illustrates the excellent comic, "Vanadys: Tales of a Fallen Goddess"!  I really appreciate this brilliant throwback to The Land of the Guardians storyline (which you can read by starting HERE and clicking "Next Post" to proceed) and the reference to the Muscovy Duck concept art I posted on this site's blog which I haven't even used on the actual comic series yet!  Now here's an artist who did some research! ...

This great guest comic strip is by Dustin Reese!  He writes and illustrates the comic, Plus One!  Tsk, tsk, oh Rianne... she may be right but she's gotta learn to keep her mouth shut sometimes.  Or at least whisper...

Plus One follows Desmond and Violet as they weed through the many pregnancy myths and legends, discovering just what its like to be an expecting parent (and lately, what it's like to be new parents)!  Just a few of the obstacles standing between their success include telling f...

This guest comic strip is by the talented Cátia Ana da Silva from Brazil!  She is the writer and artist of O Diário de Virgínia!  I wonder about how effective this form of anesthetic would be... but it sure seems to be working for Virginia!

O Diário de Virgínia is a gorgeously illustrated online story written in Portuguese.  It features Virginia and the fantastic and sometimes nonsensical world written within her diary!  Cátia Ana describes Virginia as a poor girl who has lost her way, a...

This great guest comic is by Addanac City's George Ford!  Poor Cal Duck!  He may mean well, but he needs to know when to let the good doctor be!

Addanac City by George Ford stars Hank Addanac, an endearing kid whose every step hilariously disturbs the very fabric of peaceful life like a tornado!  In his wake are his family and friends who not only have to play damage control but may realize that maybe, just maybe there's a little Hank in each of them!  Furthermore, even amidst the destruction,...
