Last Song Syndrome
During a night in the ER back in 2003, when Kill Bill was the movie everyone was talking about, a nurse started whistling the tune Daryl Hannah was strutting to from the film.

It caught on and everyone in the ER, including myself, began whistling it every now and then while working. I even remember some of the staff finding ways to make it their SMS message tone on their mobile phones. It was a slow night and people needed to pass the time away, I guess.
Then things got very busy in the ER. Exceptionally busy. To keep ourselves moving, some of us would continue whistling the tune to, you know, whistle while we worked.
Then things got worse. Much worse. Most of us got too busy to even whistle. But a celphone started playing the tune as it received a text message and the craze began anew as people started whistling it, even some of the patients.
And just when we thought the night's toxicity had reached its peak... things got much worse.
It wasn't just "one of those nights". This was a night that became legendary.
The head nurse of the ER subsequently banned anyone from whistling that tune in the ER again. Since then I have not heard anyone doing so.
